The claims are surrounded by several mines such as the Dunbeth, Jumbo, A, B, C mines whose production figures are detailed in Section 1.4.2. Several reefs have been exploited on a smaller scale as

[3] The early to middle Archean (circa 3500-3000 Ma) Pilbara craton in Western Australia is typical of many granitoid-greenstone terranes, showing granitic batholiths and intervening greenstone belts [e.g., Hickman, 1983, 1990; Krapez, 1993] and U-Pb ages of zircon suggesting that the craton generally grew from east to west [Krapez, 1993 ...

SEM and LA-ICP-MS analyses were used for the study of accessory chromite in Archean (3.0—2.8 Ga) komatiites from the most representative greenstone belts of the Karelian Craton. Zoned chromite, subjected to varying degrees of metamorphic alteration, was identified in the komatiites. Two types of zoned chromite, differing in the composition of their cores, were recognized.

Mass-independent fractionation (MIF) of sulfur isotopes has been reported in sediments of Archean and Early Proterozoic Age (>2.3 Ga) but not in younger rocks. The only fractionation mechanism that is consistent with the data on all four sulfur isotopes involves atmospheric photochemical reactions such as SO2 photolysis. We have used a one-dimensional photochemical model to investigate how the ...

Abstract Extensive regional mapping of the stratigraphic sequence throughout the Kalgoorlie - Kambalda greenstone belt in Western Australia has outlined the geometry of early subhorizontal thrust faults. These thrusts stacked and repeated the stratigraphy to form a major thrust duplex south of Kambalda. The roof thrust to the duplex becomes a major thrust flat to the north at Kalgoorlie. Later ...

In comparison to post-Archean active margin turbidites, Archean greenstone turbidites exhibit more uniform Th/Sc ratios (but with a similar average), greater HREE-depletion (), less Eu-depletion (Eu/Eu* mostly >0.85) and an absence of low Th/U ratios (Th ...

The komatiites and D-basalts are rocks in which ...
