I find that using abrasive wheels or discs on hot rolled steel to remove the mill scale does not work very well.The wheels or discs seem to clog up and glaze up and skip right over the scale.However, I have found that if A cheap segmented diamond Masonary wheel running at a relatively slow 2500 rpm the diamond wheel gets right underneath the scale and knocks it off.It works very fast and easy.
