Bummer... let the magic smoke out of my VFD - Practical Machinist

Drive is a TECO JNEV-201-H1 (1 hp) driving a Doerr 1 hp 3-ph motor on my mill. I know when running at higher speeds it would trip the VFD out so I figured it was running up on it's max output. In doing a bit of research I came across a page that says if you're using a VFD to convert from 1-phase to 3-phase you should double the size of the VFD.
