Race Rules
How the Series works:
- There will be a total of 18 Races of which your best 14 race times will count for overall standings. If any races are cancelled, it will be your best 75% of races that will count.
- Paddlers have to do at least 7 races to be eligible for category Prizes.
- Two courses will be set.
- Long Course: +/- 12km
- Short Course: +/-6km
- The courses which paddlers take part in the most, will count towards their overall position in that course. For example, if a paddler does more short courses than long courses, they will be eligible for Short courses series prizes only.
Categories
- All paddlers will be divided into the following categories:
Age Categories (your age will be from the 1st of September 2010) - Men -Seniors (20-39), Vets (40-49), Masters(50>)
- Women
- Junior Boys(<20)
- Junior Girls (<20)
- Doubles - Men's, Women's and Mixed
- Novices (first time surf ski paddlers. Will move up if percentage is to high)
You can only win prizes in your category.
Start Time
- Races will start at 18h00 and when the sun sets later, start at 18h15.
- Long course and short course will start separately. 2 minutes between each start. It will be decided at race briefing who starts first.
- After race beer and banter at Hout Bay Yacht Club.
Results:
- Will be posted on the web page by Thursday latest.
- SMS results to all those who have signed up for the whole series.
Entry fees:
- Option 1:
- You only pay once.
- Series fee: R280
- Your race result by SMS
- Scholars Free
- Option 2:
- Registration fee R40
- Race fee R30
- Scholars Free
- Option 3:
- Once off fee of R50
- If you race more than once. You will be encouraged to register.
- WHY?
- It worth it for you and cheaper.
- You are more likely to come back again.
- Juniors races will be free, however no prizes unless sponsors supply them.

NO LIFE JACKET = NO PADDLE
- Life Jacket or PFD (Buoyancy aid)
- Leash (your attachment to your boat)
- Whistle
- Paddling Top
- Flares
